Aims and Scope
Science for Humanity Press supports scholarly work that explores the development, application, evaluation, and societal implications of scientific and technological knowledge.
Our publishing scope encompasses research at the intersection of science, technology, organizations, infrastructure, communities, and society. We particularly welcome studies that address emerging challenges through innovative, evidence-based, and interdisciplinary approaches.
SHP’s publication portfolio is organized around four complementary research tracks:
Information Systems Practice (INSyP)
Information Systems Practice (INSyP) focuses on the development, implementation, management, and evaluation of information systems in organizational, governmental, educational, and community contexts.
The track welcomes research in areas such as digital transformation, information systems development, enterprise systems, data analytics, decision support systems, information governance, human-centered computing, digital services, and the socio-technical impact of information technologies.
INSyP emphasizes research that connects information systems theory with practical implementation and organizational or societal outcomes.
Resilient Connectivity (ReCon)
Resilient Connectivity (ReCon) focuses on communication technologies, digital infrastructure, network resilience, cybersecurity, and reliable connectivity.
The track provides a platform for research addressing the design, deployment, security, management, and sustainability of communication and networked systems. Topics may include wireless and mobile networks, broadband infrastructure, Internet of Things, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, network resilience, digital inclusion, and connectivity policy.
ReCon particularly encourages research that contributes to secure, reliable, inclusive, and sustainable digital ecosystems.
Science Confluence (SciCon)
Science Confluence (SciCon) promotes interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research that brings together perspectives from natural sciences, engineering, technology, and social sciences.
The track addresses complex challenges that cannot be adequately understood or solved through a single discipline. Areas of interest include sustainability science, climate adaptation, environmental systems, technological innovation, science and technology studies, emerging technologies, interdisciplinary methodologies, and the societal implications of scientific and technological development.
SciCon encourages collaborative research that creates connections between disciplines and generates integrated solutions to global and regional challenges.
Community Praxis (ComPax)
Community Praxis (ComPax) focuses on research that translates academic knowledge into meaningful community action and societal impact.
The track welcomes studies involving community-based research, participatory approaches, social innovation, education, public engagement, social policy, grassroots development, community empowerment, local knowledge, and inclusive development.
ComPax emphasizes collaboration with communities and encourages research that contributes to sustainable, equitable, and context-sensitive solutions to social and developmental challenges.
